Enhancing IT Graduates’ Employability Skills for Surviving in New Normal: Perspective of IT Professionals

This research focused on how Information Technology (IT) Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) contribute to equip IT graduate employability, from the perspective of industry experts in Sri Lanka. The further identifies mismatches between HEIs’ contributions employability and demands after COVID 19 Thirteen semi structured interviews were conducted via zoom platform with representing major companies interview protocol was designed get expert opinion about contribution which HEIs can make future graduates necessary skills general specifically new normal. According key findings study, providing opportunities for industrial experience, sharing technical practical knowledge, up-to-date syllabus, firm foundation trainings online platforms tools, developing soft remote working such as trustworthiness, minimum supervision, stress management, self-driven, attitude, team spirit, ability take challenges responsibilities identified areas could towards creating smart a digital presence ready be employed outcome this study will strengthen requirements upgrade their education quality quantity wise then meet expectations better employability.
